Good corporate governance enables us to create sustainable value for the benefit of our customer, our people and the communities in which we live and work. Our Board seeks to apply the best principles of the UK Corporate Governance Code, where considered applicable to a private, unlisted group including a regulated company. They take responsibility for all strategic decisions in our Group. Our Board is made up of individuals with the appropriate knowledge and backgrounds combined with experience, skills and knowledge that enable us to achieve a consistent balance. This enables our Board to exercise its responsibilities at the same time taking into account business needs.
After qualifying as a Quantity Surveyor with Bovis Construction Limited, in 1977, Phil wanted to use the experience gained to start up his own business, Munnelly Support Services Limited. Over the years this enterprise has expanded into many other areas of commerce such as security, recruitment, and technology.
Munnelly Group’s growth is supported by recent accolades such as the 2018 Gold Award winner of the Considerate Constructor Scheme National Company and Supplier Awards, named in the FTSE ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Europe’ Report 2018 and acquisitions of Guardior, Bishopsgate, City Calling and MacRail. The Group has further intentions to continue organic and acquisition growth over the forthcoming years.
The Munnelly Group is fast becoming recognised as the market leader in synergy enterprise acquisition and development and is constantly looking at progressive ways to enhance performance while delivering a greater financial reward to its client base.
On a personal note, Phil has enjoyed success as a football agent and night club owner and is a great lover of sport in general.
Graham brings with him an extensive portfolio of experience and expertise that will play a pivotal role in driving our strategic initiatives, ensuring financial sustainability and supporting our ongoing growth.
With a rich background in business partnering at board level, Graham is adept at navigating high-growth environments, offering both insight and challenge where necessary. His leadership capabilities, coupled with his strong strategic planning and forecasting skills, will support our mission to strengthen financial controls, optimise cash flow and manage key relationships with banking institutions.
In addition to his technical expertise, Graham has garnered experience across a range of industries, including housebuilding, multi-site retail, online e-commerce, FMCG and distribution. This breadth of knowledge will be invaluable as he joins our team, further enhancing our ability to meet the evolving needs of our businesses.
James is a highly experienced Commercial Director with 15 years’ experience working within the sector, leading and managing Surveyors and Buyers to ensure the right commercial decisions for the Groups projects are made.
James started his career as a trainee Quantity Surveyor with Bovis Lend Lease where we received sponsorship to carry out a Quantity Surveying. BSc (Hons) degree. Throughout his time at Bovis Lend Lease, James helped deliver some of the most highly prolific projects across the UK and quickly advanced to Commercial Manager.
Joining Munnelly Group in 2007, James demonstrated his ability and commercial skill having brought several key projects to a successful close out. James’ knowledge, experience, and technical capabilities ensure the Group creates the commercial prosperity it needs to continue with growth and expansion.
Paul’s experience and background within the construction sector have led him to be an invaluable asset to the Group. He has played an important role in the growth and development of the Group’s companies as both a Director and a Shareholder.
Throughout the years, Paul’s leadership and managerial expertise have seen him develop the operational efficiency of the Group. He has successfully helped lead the expansion of Munnelly Support Services to create the construction and infrastructure support services group of today.
Paul’s proven track record and industry expertise will play an integral part in the future growth of the business. His sector knowledge, relationships, and understanding of the sector make him a major asset in Munnelly Group achieving its objectives.
Paul is an industry and business leader, with extensive operational and commercial experience as both a Managing Director and Board Director within the Group’s Companies.
As an ambassador for change across the UK construction and infrastructure network he proactively seeks to promote and support innovation and initiatives across the industry, as-well as inspiring positive transformation within communities.
His focus is on building high-performing teams, that not only deliver company growth but are inspired to become the next generation of industry leaders.
Having been recognised as an industry thought leader and influencer Paul is committed to contributing on key industry topics such as technology, well-being, sustainability and personal development.
Will is an experienced logistics professional with operational and commercial experience who has been involved in planning and implementing logistics on some of the most complex and prestigious construction projects throughout the UK.
Will joined the Munnelly Group in 2001 working as a Logistics Manager on London Projects. In 2008 Will completed his MSc in Construction Management & Surveying and having helped significantly grow the business Will was promoted to the Main Board Director the same year.
Will has continued to work extensively on expanding the growth of the business year on year and has helped develop projects all over the UK aiding Munnellys to become a truly nationwide business. His experience of working on major projects such as the Olympic Village, High-Speed 2 and Heathrow Terminal 2&5 means that he has been involved in some of the largest and most prestigious projects in the UK.
Sarah Munnelly brings a wealth of experience and strategic insight to her new role. She has been instrumental in identifying and developing major framework opportunities, strategically guiding our business initiatives into new sectors. Sarah has also been a driving force in the development and implementation of cutting-edge innovations and sustainable solutions across the group.
Her appointment to the board reflects Munnelly Group’s dedication and commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion by elevating female leadership within the industry.
